How To Use Trackback in Wordpress Blog and Increase Traffic

You have your own make money work at home business and you are using blogging as one of the platform to market your product or services.
If you have been blogging for a while, you will know or might have been using Ping or Pinging your blog post. You know the power of pinging.However, there is a traffic generating technique that most bloggers, especially those using Wordpress Blogs, ignore or overlook.
The method is called Trackback.
So what is a Trackback?
It is a way for you to notify another blog author that you have wrote something that is related to his blog post. You do not necessarily have a specific link to his blog posting. Think of Trackback as references or acknowledgments you see or read at the end of a chapter in a book or at the end of an academic paper.
Most blogs accept “trackbacks”. Word-press blogs has this “trackback” option built in. For example, if you link to blog X, Y, and Z, their owners should be able to see your post url in their dashboard.
Do you know that if you link to other WordPress blog posts, they’ll be notified automatically using pings, so no other action is necessary.
How To Send A Trackback?
- Go to Google.com and do a blog niche search using “your keyword+”blog”
- If you find a post that you like, look for “Trackback URI” located at the end of each post.
- Once you locate the “Trackback URI” link, copy the link of the post. If you are using Firefox, right click on the “Trackback URI” and click on “Copy Link Location“. If you are using IE, click on “Copy Shortcut“
- Login to your own blog admin panel.
- Decide which blog post you want to link the Trackback to.
- Edit your blog post and scroll down to the Trackbacks module and paste the URL. If you copied the Trackback from a Wordpress blog, the url will end with /trackback/.
- Republish your blog post.
Trackback and Trackbacks
That is all you need to do. However, please do that note that Trackbacks works best with “resources” types of posts. So I suggest you include recommended resouce section at the end of your blog post if you want to use this method effectively.

Note and Caution:

- Write useful review, recommendation or input on the blog post you want to trackback. This help to speed up approval by the blog owner.
- All article links MUST open in a new window so that your blog visitors will still stay on your blog.
- Do check and do a due diligence on the credibility of the author submitting the request for the trackback linkback. to you.
- Be sure to include no-follow strings on the link so that the Trackback do not impact your SEO ranking.
- Moderate all blog trackbacks to avoid crappy website or spammers
So remember each time you publish a new blog post (any type of it), link to other bloggers/blogs and/or their blog posts. It’s a must for getting more traffic.
